Q: I'm worried that I'm not knowledgeable enough to participate in Quiz Bowl. What should I do?
A: There's no need to have a predetermined knowledge in trivia. As long as you're willing to open your mind to a whole wealth of trivia and adopt some general knowledge, there's a place for you in Quizbowl club. We're always open to more participants!
Q: When and where does CB's Quizbowl club meet?
A: Every day 4 in our four day school cycle. Before tournaments, there will usually be a single extra practise opportunity on day 2. The club meets in the second class from the atrium side of the Canadian World Studies hall (room 152).
Q: What if I only want to do History Bowl (or whatever other topic)?
A: The late winter and early spring season is time for history bowl, as we have our regional tournament in early March. At any point in the year, as long as there is no dire need for practise before a competition, there are themed Quizbowl packets for everyone to enjoy if they prefer.
Q: When are Quizbowl competitions?
A: Please see our Calendar for information concerning upcoming events. There are also many other tournaments not listed on the calendar - if we have enough interest we may consider going to them as well.
Q: Are there any financial demands of Quizbowl?
A: Under normal circumstances, no, but if you ever want to go to a tournament there will be a relatively cheap tournament fee (like $10), and whatever travel cost that exists to get there. We may also occasionally charge a small fee to acquire new buzzers to replace our ageing sets.
